Layout Love | May 20th edition

I fell off the blogger wagon. I don't know how it happens, oh wait I do,... birthdayparties.teacherappreciationdays.muchneededdaysaway.afternoonsatthebeach.schoolcarnivals.bookfairchairperson.latenightsunderthestarswatchingamovie.beingashouldertocryon.doctorsappointments.everydaythings. You know how it is, it is nothing different than what you are experiencing at this exact moment, sometimes it is easy to let the things that feed you fall to the side lines and for me that is crafting. Some times I feel so guilty taking the time to be creative, but the truth is that is the last thing I should feel. I need to take care of me to take care of those around me.. plain and simple!

One of the easiest ways for me to get back into blogging is to brag about YOU GUYS!!! You have always been my number one resource for inspiration, I feel so lucky to be a part of this creative community.

It is time that I admit this but I stink at letterpress. So much so that I gave mine away. I kept my favorite plates to use as stamps and dry emboss, but these adorable coasters make me want to go out and buy another letterpress kit!!! I mean those multi-color bowls.. seriously? My heart!!

I love this beautiful layout from Adow! First she totally rocked the Camelot kit with that cut file (my fave!!!!) but paired it with these beautiful B&W photos that just pull you in! Soft, sweet and just BEAUTIFUL!!

I mean really, do I need to say anything about this beautiful layout? First off the colors, THE COLORS!!!! I love anything even close to a rainbow inspired layout. She cut the PERFECT title work out with her AMAZING cameo and ROCKED some fun watercolors!

What has inspired you lately?

Studio Calico Camelot Scrapbook Kits

I have said it once and I will say it again,,... I can't believe how QUICKLY this month snuck up on me! Yesterday was another exciting reveal over at Studio Calico, but I was at a WONDERFUL super sweet intimate wedding for one of my dear friends, I just could not be happier for them!!

So this month's kit  is DEVINE and reminds me a lot of one of my favorite kits,.. Neverland!

This beautiful kit paired with this amazing cut file from Barbara = TOTAL inspiration!

I had so much fun creating this page! What I did was simply use the cut file on 5-6 pages of pattern paper as well as white cardstock. One at a time layer the pattern paper behind the white paper flipping up the windows until you create the desired effect. Once you are done fan the layers out to really make them POP!

Another page I had a lot of fun with is this one all about my husband. I used the digital templates I created for the shop this month and sent them over to my cameo to cut out all the shapes! With templates like this you can easily use them as a base to get you started and really make it your own form there!! The lovely worn typewriter font is from the LOVELY Heather Joyce  over at The Lilypad.

Templates are available here :)

What are you most excited about in your Studio Calico box this month?

3 cards in 15 mins - inspired by 1 layout

Happy Tuesday! One of my goals for 2014 is to send more letters, cards etc. I feel silly when I am in a pinch and need to send out a card and end up pulling out one of the pre-made ones I have tucked in a drawer. I mean, HELLO I have a craft room full of products that inspire me, there really is no excuse. But the one I often like to make is "I have no time!", does that sound familiar?  So I set out with some goals.

1. Make three cards in 15 minuets.
2. Find inspiration in work I have already created
3. Use the kit I have on my desk.

The kit sitting on my desk was Blue Note

The layout I decided to take my inspiration from

I simply used the scraps on my desk that I had out from making my Blue Note projects.

Then I made 3 card bases with white card stock and started with the same composition on each card. Simply using the washi tapes that came in the kits, and a piece of paper in the same manner.

I took 3 labels and added them to the cards as well as the adorable stickers.

I also knew I wanted to add the sewing detail that
I had on my layout so I added that quickly to all of my cards.

From there I had the base of the design done and started to
design each card on it's own with the supplies I had right around me.

I always cut all my cut files for the month on white right when
I get them to have them on hand so the "believe" was an easy add!

I love that after only 15 mins and simply using the supplies I already had out I now have 3 cards ready to send out to some of my favorite people!

So here is my challenge for you! The next time you make a layout, take 15 mins. afterwards and make a couple cards! Link me up, I would love to leave you some love!!
