I wanted to share my start to finish process for this week in my journaling bible.
Lindsay Letters designs some of the cutest stamps for Studio Calico so I pulled those out as I love how they look when stamped in my bible. I also saw this adorable cup sticker that was perfect for the sentiment "put it in the cup".
I LOVE the BE BRAVE stamp and used my staz-on ink (my fave) right under the cup and then journaling "put it in the" with my favorite journaling pen. I love making sure I add a mixture of my own personal handwriting along side stamps and alpha stickers!
I have been sort of hoarding these adorable stickers from the Hola kit (sold out, but keep your eye out some cute alpha sticker in the upcoming kits!). Something I kind of think about when adding alpha stickers is how long the word is, and alternating styles (for example traditional or block letters).
I love seeing how everyone is adding mist (I used Mister Huey's) to their pages and wanted to add a little unexpected color to my pages today. In this photo it is still drying but I wanted to show you all to NOT be afraid to get messy in your bibles! I just sprayed it on there and once it is dry and you close the book the page is still in perfect condition!
One of the last things I always do is add my tab. I try to think of a sentiment short and simple that will remind me what I will find inside. I used one of the tabs from Veronica's amazing (free) printables. I also added a "2" from one of my favorite Studio Calico alphas from a past kit, but good news, if you missed out on those they are coming out with MORE and you can find them here.
If you are new to the idea of using your bible in this way, or would like to find a community to find some amazing inspiration and some of the sweetest gals you will ever meet, please come join us on facebook in our new journaling bible group. I have also taught a class through influence network called journaling bible: the basics. You can purchase the recording and get more info here. Hope to see you there!

Yay for color mists right? I love your pages.. and I'll admit.. a tad bit envious of all your supplies and stamps etc.. sighs... I have a bunch.. but don't hv a lot of the latest and greatest like some of you have.. I'm gonna have to start digging into my stamp stash to see what I'll wanna use... I love love that LOVE THIS stamp with the arrow and the BE BRAVE STAMP... beautiful page!
ReplyDeleteyou certainly don't need anything NEW or exciting YOU ARE ALREADY rocking the products you have LADY!!! You are such an inspiration!
DeleteAnother gorgeous and meaningful page! Love every bit. Thanks for sharing your process and the sermon link. Blessings,
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! Thank you for sharing as well, you are amazing!
DeleteBeautiful and yay for misting. I got brave tonight but this really makes me nervous. LOL
ReplyDeleteAnd hugs to you. Had no idea. So glad you listened to the sermon. It was the right time.
TFS!!
xoxox thank you sweetie!!! I can't wait to see YOU'VE GOT THIS!
DeleteHello! I found your site today through the post the Patter wrote about her bible band for her journaling bible. I had never heard of the concept and came over to read your post about it. I would very much like to try this myself. I went to Amazon to look for the bible mentioned and I found the original 2 column as well as a newer, revised version that has only one column of verse per page. I am wondering which to purchase so as to allow the most room for journaling and hoping you can give me some direction?
ReplyDeleteAlso, you mention that Studio Calico makes a Project Life pen that is your favorite journaling pen. I do not have that pen and am wondering if there are any others that you might suggest that I may already own or have easier access to purchasing that won't bleed through these pages? I saw that you watercolored and used spray mists on your bible, did it bleed through to the other side?
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide,
Maureen
Marueen I really haven't had troubles with any pens (although I have yet to try anything such as a highlighter) I would just say try your favorite pen in general!!! :) I haven't had any issues with actual bleeding, now if you lift up the page and look on the bac you can see through the page so you can see the paint but you can also see the words from the bible on the back side on the page (does that make sense?) They are thin pages but I am amazed at what they will hold up to!! :)
DeleteSo pretty! I just finished watching the course from Influence, got my bible... can't wait to get started!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you will share Meg, I can't wait to see what you come up with!

ReplyDeleteShanna, I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your bible with us and your process for journaling. I have been so inspired to reconnect with the Word and to spend some time listening to the message and reconnecting my faith with my heart. I haven't yet done any of my own journaling, but it is something I look forward to starting. I just wanted to let you know that I am loving this feature in your blog and encourage you to keep going.
ReplyDeleteThis... this! It was absolutely prophetic that I found this today in the SC gallery. I followed links. I searched and pinned on Pinterest. This makes my doodling heart so very, very happy; I had no idea this was even a thing! :) Thank you, Shanna. Thank you so very much for sharing this art and inspiration. I am a follower now!! Blessings!
