The one with the Project Life with Thataway & Cute Clip Giveaway!

I was excited to get to play with the Thataway,  line and see how well it mixed in with Atlantic and bits of Storytime. I love going at my spread in a totally free way. I start with my color, of course PINK was calling my name! I gathered some other bits of yellow, a letterpress coaster from Studio Calico's December daily ( a couple of years ago), and some bits of my camp calico kit I haven't used up yet.. I was ready to jump in with both feet!

Some of my favorite things from the new lines include:

I LOVED the way these took the ink!!

But don't take my word for it! Check out all the Thataway in the store!

I also used some FUN clips that my sister in law made! And she wanted to share some with you!

Check out this adorable card she made with them!

You can find her store here and make sure to check out my instagram for a chance to win a prize pack!

Talk to you soon!

The one with the TWINE & TAPE love!!

You know how much I love shining the spotlight on small business so when Theresa showed me what she was up to I couldn't wait to tell you all about some of the fun things she has planned!!!

Instagram @twineandtape

My name is Theresa, I'm 31and I live in Northern California with my husband and our three kids.  I'm a SAHM with a little online shop called Twine and Tape where I sell craft supplies.  I've always loved crafts and started scrapbooking about 10 years ago after my oldest son was born. I have a very simple style.

Theresa tell us all about your sweet little store and some of the fun new products you are working on!
I opened my shop over 2 years ago and mainly sold bakers twine and washi tape from Japan.  I recently started to add other crafting supplies.  Just this month I released my own 3"x4" wood veneer cards!  There are currently 15 designs and I'm working on more to add to the shop soon. They're perfect for pocket scrapbooking but can be used on any craft project.  To be able to put my name on a product is surreal!

I noticed you just got back from CHA! What are you most excited about coming out in the next couple of months?
There were so many amazing new products at the show, but I'm most excited about Basic Grey's new lines!  Their booth was my first stop and I ordered just about everything they had for my shop! I really love their new Capture line.

          What inspires you to create?

My kids.  I love when they look through albums together or share them with family and friends.  It's fun to hear them tell their memories of a certain day or trip as they look at photos.   They ask a lot of questions about things they weren't there for or can't remember, like baby photos, and I love being able to share stories with them.

(HELLO, when can I come play?)

What trends do you see coming for the fall and early 2014?
Divided pocket page scrapbooking has become really popular over the last year and I see that continuing to grow. I love that there are more and more options in album sizes, page protectors and inserts.  Capture, Project Life, and SN@P are a few of my favorites and I'm excited for their new releases coming over the next few months!  I'm sure we'll see even more of it at the winter CHA show.

One of my favorite passions is to shine the light on other artists, who are some of your favorite artists and/or small business owners?

I've always loved supporting small businesses!  A few of my recent favorites are Skipping 5 and Studio L2E.

Guess what? Theresa is giving one lucky reader a set of her new wood veneer cards!!!! Isn't that sweet? Just leave a comment telling us about your favorite trend you see for this fall and I will draw a winner on Friday!

The one with the Double Scoop Project Life SNEAKS!!

Ladies and Gents, I have gotten over my head and have jumped from the HANDBOOK for PL to the Becky Higgins Project Life page protectors, that means a lot more space for memory keeping, but also A LOT more space. Handbook is so easy to keep up with but I did miss including more than just photos and journling. But can we just be honest for one moment? The reason I switched over is for one single reason  person!

When I saw her Project Life in person at Camp Calico, I realized how much more PL can be than what I was doing with it (I was already in love using the Handbook!). I realized at this point in my life with two children, growing, changing, learning .. it was worth the extra time to document these moments.

So with all that I have some sneaks for this month!!

Hello STAMP
Hello Wood Veneer Camera
Hello GOLD FOIL LABELS!!!

The one with Amanda De Jong

You all know how much you inspire me each and every single day? Well you do. I am simply amazed by your talent, and so honored to be a part of this community! Today I wanted to shine a light on our very talented friend, Amanda De Jong. I love her, I know you will too!

Hi there! My name is Amanda and I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband, Josh, and 6 year old son, Carson. I am fortunate enough to work from home running my small paper-crafted and vinyl decor business which lends itself nicely to my addiction to coffee and paper! I am mostly a 12x12 scrapper but also do 8.5x11 and digital/hybrid pages. I recently began doing mixed media work as well and besides art journal pages & canvas, I like to incorporate it in to my layouts. My style is pretty eclectic although I do tend to lean more towards bold fun color.

Before we get started I wanted to share some of my favorite pieces from her Society 6 store!

Amanda, I love you style can you tell us where you go for inspiration?

Instagram has really helped me immerse myself in to the scrapbook community. There is such a wealth of inspiration that spins off from there to blogs, galleries and more. I am constantly adding new blogs to my feed so I can keep up with fellow scrappers and artists. I have also been a Studio Calico subber for a little over a year, and I must say the SC gallery rocks! Of course, I can’t forget Pinterest!
I know you are creative outside of scrapbooking, tell us a bit about your prints and etsy store!
My Etsy store has evolved quite a bit over the last couple of years. I began by creating and selling altered items, like frames and monograms. Now I find myself primarily making vinyl decals, signs and the occasional print. I am a sucker for a good inspirational quote and when one speaks to me I try to translate that in to my work, whether it’s a decal or a layout. I firmly believe in cultivating a positive life and these designs are my way to inspire others to find blessings in the everyday.
I know each creation holds a special place in our hearts, but if you had to pick three projects that represent your style what would they be?
I find my style to be pretty eclectic; jumping around from clean to artsy to, what I would call, a hot mess. Here are three that definitely stand out as being “me”

It's so interesting to see where people create, can you show us your space?

Absolutely! I have an 8 foot alcove in our spare room/play room/laundry room. We used just about every inch of wall space we possibly could to take full advantage of it. I apologize for the bad lighting in these pictures. I need to retake them in daylight when my space is clean again ;-)

One of my faovrite places to go for inspiration is Pinterest! What is the last thing you pinned?

WOW that is beautiful!!!

Amanda came bearing GIFTS!!!! I asked Amanda to design a template for you all, I thought that she had a store with templates (I WAS WRONG LOL) but she should, check out this amazing template she made for you guys! It was her first crack at at, HELLO natural.. party of one!!!!! Thank you Amanda this is amazing and I can't wait to use it!! xox
